Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, is a bustling city with a population of about 7 million people. It is the 40th most populous area in the world. It is an exquisite place to visit if you're planning a vacation (with it's beautiful scenery), but for the people living there, it's not so pleasurable. The people of Taipei are struggling with air pollution, water pollution, raw sewage, contamination of drinking water, trade in endangered species, and low-level radioactive waste disposal. The people and government of Taipei need to step up and start solving their environmental problems. It is time to make Taipei a sustainable city.
